Friday, May 25

Peekskill Celebration: Running through Memorial Day Monday, the Peekskill Celebration at the Riverfront Green Park is from 5-11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and noon to 8 p.m. Monday. Admission is $25; all proceeds benefit the Peekskill Celebration and the Peekskill Lions Club.

Cortlandt Memorial Day Ceremony: 2-3 p.m. The Town of Cortlandt will have a Memorial Day ceremony at the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center, 29 West Brook Drive, Cortlandt.

Outdoor Rummage Sale: 10 a.m. to  4 p.m. For the 12th year, St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, 6 Old Post Road North, Croton-on-Hudson, will have an outdoor rummage sale with hundreds of items. The sale is ongoing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., through June 2, and features adult and kids' clothes for $1 each, as well as a selection of shoes, furniture, children's books, toys, bikes, trikes, toddler climbers and slides, scooters, car seats, strollers and booster seats.

Register for New York State Safe Boating Course: The course is scheduled to take place at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library. Visit the library, 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, N.Y., or call 914-739-5654 for information.

Animals and Acrobats: Enjoy the fun of an early American traveling circus at this event. Performers include fire-juggling acrobats, A Different Spin, the conservation group Two by Two Zoo, birds of prey demos from Flight of the Raptor, and Bells & Motley, who provide storytelling, dance, and olden music featuring a hurdy-gurdy. Plus tumbling acrobats, tightrope walkers, fortune-tellers, mimes, and more! Picnic fare, treats, and beverages will be available. The event takes place at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., admission is $16 for adults, $14 for seniors and $12 for children ages 3-17. This event is free for members and children under 3.

Kite Day at Croton Landing: 1-3 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon in the park showing off your kite-flying skills. Bring your own kite; refreshments will be served. This event is free and takes place at Croton Landing, on Elliot Way in Croton.

Overlook Trail Hike: 2-3:30 p.m. Join a Teatown naturalist on a 2-mile moderate hike around one of Teatown’s least-frequented trails. Participants should bring water and wear hiking boots. Please note this program is not suitable for children under 8. Free for members and $5 per person for non-members. Reservations are required, call 914-762-2912.
