Weekend Traffic Stops Results in Two DWI Charges

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – State troopers in Cortlandt have charged a Croton woman with resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated on Sunday.

Klavdiya Marricco, 37, of Croton-on-Hudson, was stopped by troopers on Albany Post Road for following too closely and failing to keep right. According to police reports, after troopers attempted to take Marricco into custody, she began flailing her arms, attempting to resist.

Marricco was taken into custody and transported to the Cortlandt barracks, where a positive breath sample of .14 percent blood alcohol content was obtained. Marricco was charged with misdemeanor DWI and resisting arrest, and issued an appearance ticket. Marricco is due in Town of Cortlandt Court on Friday, October 21, at 9 a.m.

On Friday night, a vehicle with suspended registration, because of an insurance lapse, was pulled over on Baker Street, in Cortlandt. Troopers report that Tracy A. Defonce, 34, of Mahopac, was driving.

After further investigation troopers report that Defonce was driving while intoxicated, and a breath sample of .13 blood alcohol content was reported once she was transported to police barracks. Defonce was charged with a misdemeanor DWI, and is due in Town of Cortlandt Court on Friday, October 14, at 9 a.m.
