Troopers Charge Six with Larceny Over One Week

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Six different people were charged with larceny or burglary in the Town of Cortlandt in the last week, one with 10 counts of petit larceny, one with felony grand larceny, and another with forced entry and burglary.

• Jason Valdez, 19, a Mohegan Lake resident, was charged with felony burglary after allegedly breaking into the Puppies, Puppies, Puppies, pet store in Cortlandt Manor. According to police reports, Valdez stole more than $600 in cash from the store’s register. He worked at the pet store and was spotted by a neighboring business employee leaving the store late at night, police said.

• Gloria J. Ducady, 52, a Peekskill resident, was charged with 10 counts of petit larceny on Sept. 19. Police said Ducady, a cashier at Walmart, stole more than $900 from her employer on various occasions. She is due in court on Sept. 30, at 9 a.m.

• Bruce Power, 38, of Peekskill, was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony. He was arrested on Sept. 19, around 8 p.m., at 3131 East Main St., Cortlandt Manor. He was issued an appearance ticket.

• Marta M. Guaratatanga, 49, and Melvi R. Magno, 46, were both charged with petit larceny at 3131 East Main St., Cortlandt Manor, around 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 16. Both charges were misdemeanors, and both were issued appearance tickets.

• At the same location, Tracey A. Cleary, 42, a Mahopac resident, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, on Sept. 18, around 5 p.m.

In other police blotter news:

• On Sept. 17, police charged Anthony Ciavarra, 55, of Cortlandt Manor, with leaving the scene of an accident, moving from a lane unsafely, following too close and driving while intoxicated, all misdemeanors.

• On Sept. 20, at approximately 10 p.m., John P. Boddie, 41, a Verplanck resident, was arrested for criminal trespassing in the 2nd degree, a misdemeanor.
