Storm Downs Trees and Powerlines in Cortlandt

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – A freak snowstorm knocked out power in nearly half of the Town of Cortlandt. Con Edison estimated that 42 percent of the town’s customers were without power Sunday evening.

Con Edison is estimating power will be restored to all Cortlandt residents by Wednesday at 11:59 p.m.

Roads remained treacherous, but passable, in much of the town Sunday. Downed wires and trees lined Furnace Dock Road, among other streets in the town. Residents were advised to treat downed wires as if they were live and not go near them.

“The town crews continue to clear the roads of snow and downed trees,” wrote Supervisor Linda Puglisi in a press release on Sunday.

If you are without power, you should notify Con Edison, at 1-800-75-ConEd.
