Entergy will be conducting a security response exercise at the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan on Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The exercise will involve local, state and federal law enforcement and emergency service responders, and others. During the drill local residents may see police vehicles responding to Indian Point. We are taking steps to notify the public now that they may see emergency service and police vehicles near Indian Point so there is no undue alarm caused by this exercise, said Indian Point Chief Executive Joe Pollock.
Local law enforcement agencies have been informed of and in some cases participating in the event.
Some of the organizations participating in the exercise include Nuclear Regulatory Committee, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Department of Homeland Security, the New York State Police and the Westchester County Police Department.
