Peekskill Police Release Sketch of GameStop Robber

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – City police have released a sketch of the man who robbed the GameStop store in the Beach Shopping Center Friday morning.

The suspect, a black male, approximately six feet tall, robbed the video game chain store at about 10 a.m. Although responding Peekskill cops were aided by state troopers and Westchester County police blood hounds and aerial units, they were unable to apprehend the subject.

The suspect was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and threatened the one female employee working at the time with a knife and stole three Xbox game consoles before escaping on foot through the woods near the shopping center, according to Peekskill Police spokesman Sgt. Ray Henderlong.

Henderlong said Monday that the investigation is ongoing and that they had some “slight leads” to follow. He said that video cameras in the Beach Shopping center were being studied, as well as other area surveillance cameras.

Henderlong urged any area residents with possible information on the suspect to call the department at (914) 737-8000 as soon as possible.
