Montrose Man Faces Felony Charge After Argument

MONTROSE, N.Y. – Police say a Montrose man violated an order of protection when he confronted his ex-girlfriend at her workplace, blocked a hallway and grabbed her arm. Charles Machado, 21, of Harper Avenue, Montrose, faces one count of felony criminal contempt, and one count of misdemeanor harassment.

The incident occurred just before noon on November 9. Machado was remanded to Westchester County Jail in leiu of $7,500 bail.

Sunday, November 6, 9:05 p.m.  Westchester County Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of Aberdeen Road in Cortlandt. The driver of the vehicle told police he had pulled on to the dead-end street to make a cell phone call.

Saturday, November 5, 1:32 p.m. Westchester County Police responded to ShopRite on Route 6 following an altercation between two patrons of the store. A 58-year-old woman from Cortlandt who uses a walker told police she was shoved and screamed at by another shopper that she had asked to move out of the way at the front entrance.

Friday, November 4, 2:49 p.m. Westchester County Police responded to a complaint of loud music at a residence on Lexington Avenue in Mohegan Lake. The two tenants of the residence have had an ongoing dispute over noise and other issues, police said.

9:55 p.m. An anonymous caller reported to Westchester County Police that someone had removed a number of campaign signs supporting Town Justice Daniel McCarthy and threw them in the trash behind 2 Westbrook Drive. County police located the damaged signs and notified the judge of the incident.

Thursday, November 3, 5:11 p.m. The caretaker of a cemetery on Sunset Road in Montrose reported to Westchester County Police that eight headstones were knocked over by vandals. The damage occurred sometime within the previous 24 hours.
