Man Robs Peekskill GameStop Store

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - The GameStop video game store in Peekskill's Beach Shopping Center was the target of a robbery on Friday morning, according to Peekskill police.

While a female GameStop employee was alone in the store, about 10 a.m., a black male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt threatened the employee with a knife and stole three Xbox game consoles, according to Sgt. Ray Henderlong of Peekskill police.

The suspect escaped on foot through the woods near the Beach Shopping Center. The suspect is a black male, approximately six feet tall, and wore a dark hooded sweatshirt during the robbery.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Although Peekskill cops were aided by state troopers and Westchester County police blood hounds and aerial units, they were unable to apprehend the subject. The matter is under investigation, and police anticipate releasing a sketch of the suspect on Monday.
