The second annual fundraiser hosted by Hilltop Farms of Croton, in partnership with the Hendrick Hudson Community Education Foundation, raised a total of $500 for the school district. Parents raised money by shopping at Hilltop Farms, which donated 10 percent of all purchases (with proof of a voucher from the school district) to the Hendrick Hudson Education Foundation.
Chris Schwerd, managing operator of Hilltop Farms, called last years fundraiser well received and emphasized that it was nice that the parents are raising the money in partnership with the farm. Hilltop Farms matched the total amount of money collected from sales for a total donation of $250 to the school district.
The fundraiser comes on the heels of Hilltops second birthday celebration, where customers celebrate the garden supply markets inception by popping a helium balloon with a surprise discount coupon inside. The birthday celebration will take place Saturday and Sunday at Hilltop Farms.
