CORTLANDT, N.Y. ? Strong winds have downed some power lines in Cortlandt. Con Edison is reporting 249 customers in Croton without power, out of 3,629,served, and 14 without power in Cortlandt of 12,295 served.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the lower Hudson Valley until noon. Winds are southeast between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
Croton power outages are expected to be restored by 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. Cortlandt power outages did not have an expected restoration time. Con Edison reported the outages just before 10 a.m.
The winds "could down a few trees and trees limbs … power lines and holiday decorations. Scattered power outages will be possible. Driving high-profile vehicles could be difficult," according to the NWS wind advisory.
