Francis Moore, 72, retired Peekskill Science Teacher

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. – Francis T. Moore, 72, a retired Peekskill High School science teacher, associate member of Cortlandt Hook and Ladder and longtime Wappingers Fall resident, died on Oct. 3, 2011. Moore was born in Carbondale Pa., on May 24, 1939, to James and Mary Wengrzynek Moore.

On July 5, 1969, he married Jean A. Fisher at The Church of the Assumption in Peekskill. Jean died on March 3, 1991. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Moore and Melinda Miller (Lenny) of Carmel, NY, his brother James of Carbondale, Pa., his sisters, Elizabeth Loughney of Mayfield, Pa., Barbara Price (Joseph) of Clark Summit, Pa., Margaret McDonald (William) of Falls Church, Va., Jean Smith (Joseph) of Carmel, Patricia Resine (John) of Hockesin, Del., Cathy Penska and Ann Ryan, both of Eynon, Pa. and Terry (Anthony) Talerico of Carbondale, his granddaughter Samantha and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph, and his sisters, Mary and Alice.

Visiting will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 US Route 6, Mahopac, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations in Fran's memory may be made to Doctors Without Borders.
