CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- A Thursday evening fire at a Cortlandt farm damaged a barn and killed some of the farm's chickens, according to published reports.
The fire broke out at around 9 p.m. Thursday, and the Lake Mohegan Fire Department worked for several hours to contain the blaze. Farm employees confirmed the fire Friday morning but could not offer any further comment. Calls to the Mohegan Lake Fire Department were not immediately returned.
The Journal News is reporting that some of the farm's chickens were killed before the fire could be put out.
