Kathleen Dymes of Croton-on-Hudson was found unresponsive in the Apple Motor Inn on Saw Mill River Road in Ardsley early Friday morning, according to her former attorney, Peter Tilem.

"Her death, life much of her life, is tragic," Tilem said.

Tilem, who represented Dymes during her trial, said the woman never recovered from the coma she was in following the death of her daughter, Lacey Carr, on Easter Sunday 2015 of a drug overdose.

The girl was found dead in a family home in a bedroom full of drugs, painkillers, and alcohol. Dymes was also found unconscious that day, but recovered.

"She never got over her daughter's death and she never got over the medical problems she suffered as a result of the coma," he added.

Dymes pleaded guilty to one count of criminally negligent homicide, a felony; one count of child endangerment, a misdemeanor; and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

As part of a plea deal, Dymes was sentenced to five years probation for the felony and three years probation for the misdemeanors.
