Croton Academy of Arts to Have Adult Improv Class

The Croton Academy of Arts has announced that they will hold a new session of adult comedy improvisation classes this summer, starting June 30. The classes will be taught by Rory Scholl, a New York comedian and member of the travelling improvisation groups, Chicago City Limits and Comedysportz.

“Once adults start warming up,” said Scholls about his adult improv students, “they can surprise you.” He also said that the improvisation classes sometimes double as a kind of therapy, teaching people how to “let go and have fun.”

The Croton Academy of Comedic Arts is a member organization of the Croton Academy of Arts, which recently held a theatrical program titled “Shorts,” of five one-act plays by contemporary American playwrights all performed by teenagers. The performance was held in the Ossining Library.

Pre-registration is required, although classes can be taken on a class-by-class basis. Classes cost $25 each, and will be held on Thursday nights from June 30 to August 11, at 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The classes will take place at CACA’s new location, at 1392 Albany Post Rd., in Croton. There is a ten percent discount for college students.
