The 100 blankets were a gift of Subaru of America and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley chapter. It is part of a mission of Subaru to donate more than 30,000 blankets to cancer patients.

Closer to home, representatives from both organizations brought the 100 blankets and notes of encouragement in June as part of Subaru Loves to Care Month to the hospital's Cheryl R. Lindenbaum Cancer Center. The cancer center opened in 2011 to offer cancer treatments and support in one place.
