Buchanan Man Charged in Cinco De Mayo Stabbing

CORTLANDT, N.Y. — A Buchanan man is being held in the Westchester County Jail in connection with the stabbing a fellow patron at a town restaurant.

Adam G. Meth, 22, was arrested Sunday at 1:30 a.m. and charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony, when state police responded to the Tenampa restaurant on a report of an assault and stabbing, according to police reports.

Officers learned that a violent assault had occurred and the victim had been driven in a private vehicle to Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor for medical attention, police said. Meth was arrested after witnesses were interviewed and was arraigned in Peekskill City Court and remanded to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He was due in Cortlandt Town Court on Monday, May 7.

The victim underwent emergency surgery and remains at Hudson Valley Hospital Center, according to police.
