Baby Jesus Goes Missing From Nativity Scene

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Croton Police are investigating a trail of post-Christmas mischief—from the missing baby Jesus at Holy Name of Mary’s manger, to overturned flower pots at the Nancy Kennedy, Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate office.

Just before 6 a.m. on Dec. 27 police received a call from Scarsdale Security Systems, notifying police that a security alarm at Croton-Harmon High School had been tripped. When police arrived they found scratches on a window, which officers believe were caused by someone attempting to pry the window open with a pipe.

Patrols then drove through the neighborhood, discovering overturned flower pots at the Nancy Kennedy, Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate office. At about 9 a.m., police received a call from Holy Name of Mary Church telling them that baby Jesus was missing from the nativity scene in front of the church. The baby Jesus has since been replaced.

The incidents are all under investigation, it remains unclear if the events are connected, police said.
