Alleged Lake Peekskill Burglar Flees to Cortlandt

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Lake Peekskill residents called New York State Police as they watched an apparent home burglary unfold, sending a Putnam Valley man fleeing into Cortlandt with stolen copper and brass piping, police said.

Police say a neighbor called police as they watched the burglary in a seasonal residence on Lake Peekskill, Friday. Sean T. Foley, 19, of Putnam Valley, was arrested by police at the Miranda Plaza in Cortlandt, not far from the original crime scene. Police said witnesses claimed that Foley fled to Cortlandt when he felt he’d been spotted.

Foley has been arrested and charged with felony burglary, and could face a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison if convicted. Foley was arraigned in Putnam Valley Town Court, and was remanded to Putnam County Jail pending a future court date.
