The last few months have made something very clear: this year's election presents voters with two clear options. One slate has ideas, strategic plans and vision. The other has a score to settle.
My vision for Croton is one based in reality. I understand we have to maintain our infrastructure and I understand it is the village board's responsibility to keep taxes as low as possible. This means financing some projects and using federal and state grants. It means working with neighboring municipalities to access cutting-edge services at competitive prices.
I want our children to grow up in a village where it is safe to walk or ride their bikes from one of the new businesses in Harmon to the train station or from Senasqua Park to Croton Landing. I am invested in the future of Croton. I know that the full potential of our village can be achieved when we work together.
Thank you for your support and your vote Nov. 3.
Maria Slippen, Croton on Hudson Village Trustee
