To the Editor:
In my time representing Northern Westchester in the County Legislature, I have earned a reputation as an independent-minded Democrat willing to stand with party leaders when they are right and stand up to them when they are wrong. I am also known for being as careful with taxpayer dollars as I am with my own and protecting our natural environment like my own backyard.
I see these same values in Kevin Davis, who is running for Village Trustee here in Croton-on-Hudson. I had the privilege of having Kevin lead my campaign for New York State Senate in this area in 2010. Kevin is one of the most serious and passionate people I have ever met in my years in public life.
Kevin has been a regular participant at village board meeting since he was in High School. Kevin, without any help from either party, organized a successful referendum campaign to move Crotons village elections from March to November to save taxpayer dollars and boost voter turnout.
Kevin is a third-generation Crotonite and is running because he truly cares for his community and wants to protect Crotons outstanding quality of life and keep it affordable for middle class families.
I encourage registered Democrats in the Village of Croton to support Kevin Davis in the Democratic Party Primary on Thursday, September 13th.
Sincerely,
Michael Kaplowitz,
Westchester County Legislator District 4 and Chair of the Committee on Environment and Energy.
