Field Home's Festival Has Something for All Ages

YORKTOWN, NY - Paige Devine, 5, sat patiently while her face was painted Saturday and nearby Gavin Maher, used all the concentration his four-year-old self could muster as he milked a pretend cow.

This “cow,", with pretend udders, complete with a bucket underneath was just one of a plethora of children activities found at Field Home’s Fall Festival Saturday.

Maher’s favorite part of the event was the jumping slide, he said. Across the grass, Hayden Murray, 4, who traveled from Garrison, was seen petting the different animals in the animal pen, and said his favorite part was milking the pretend cow.

Hundreds of families from near and far gathered Saturday at the seventh annual event hosted by Field Home. The event is a way to bring the community and the residents of the different Field Home residences together, explained marketing director Patti Horvath.

“It keeps growing every year,” she said. “It’s a great way to give back to the community and kind of invite everyone to have a great time, no matter what age you are.”

In between the groups of toddlers and children, were residents of the Seabury or Field Home who were seen petting the animals with just as much excitement and care.

The festival boasted pony rides, live music, car shows, crafts and face painting. Horvath explained the event brought people from the early learning center in with the different Seabury residents, and made it an event that had something for everyone.
