Ex-Frank G. Lindsey Principal, O'Hare Dies at 83

MONTROSE, N.Y. - John Michael O'Hare, a former principal in Montrose, died at home in Jensen Beach, Fla. on Oct. 13, surrounded by family and friends. He was 83.

O'Hare, an Army veteran, was a former principal of Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School in Montrose.

Son of the late George and Matilda O'Hare of Depew Street in Peekskill, he was born on Nov. 13, 1927. O'Hare served in the Army during World War II and was among the occupation forces in Japan toward the end of the war.

As well as a distinguished educator, he was a poet, modern artist, accomplished sailor, fly fisherman and skier.

O'Hare is survived by his sons Scott of Baiting Hollow, N.Y., Kurt of Putnam Valley, N.Y. and Dean of Charlotte, N.C., his daughter Mary of Bethel, Conn. and his brother George of Youngstown, Ohio.
