Ellen Peske, 95, Longtime Croton Resident

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Ellen Peske, 95, of Croton, died in her sleep on April 8. 

She was born Ellen Harhovsky on July 10, 1916 in present day Slovakia. Married for 70 years to the late Milan Peske, she was a resident of Czechoslovakia for 34 years before moving to Croton-on-Hudson 50 years ago.  

Peske is remembered by her family for placing family first, and for her love of animals and nature. Her family loved sitting around her and listening to her recount her life experiences. Peske's favorite saying was "enjoy life" and will remain with her family forever. 

She is survived by two children, Dagmar (Don) Simons and Ivo (Joan) Peske; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. 

Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton-on-Hudson, followed by a memorial mass. Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
