Croton's Groovy on Grand Expands to New Location

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Groovy on Grand will expand into the long vacant former Wondrous Things location on Grand Street. The large space will house Groovy on Grand’s creative day camps and classes.

“We always did birthday parties, design camps and make-yourown T-shirts and accessories, but now we have a space where we will focus solely on that area of business,” says owner Andrea Andrews, who will head up the new location.

Lisa Parmeggia will continue to operate the clothing and accessory location located across the street, also on Grand Street. Groovy on Grand has been on Grand Street for five years, selling funky accessories for tweens and hosting design-your-own classes for jewelry and clohing.

A fashion designer by trade, Andrews said she is excited about focusing her energy strictly on design.

“This has been my favorite part of the business,” she said, “and this new location allows me to narrow in on just that.”

In addition to more drop-ins, larger birthday parties, and more make-your-own-sewing workshops, Groovy on Grand Design Studios will hold six weeks of summer camp, wearable art classes, manufacture their own small line of clothing, and do made-to-order designs for graduations, bar and bat mitzvahs and community groups.

The new location will open April 1 and is located at 122 Grand Street, next to Bella Paula’s Pizza in the upper village portion of Croton-on-Hudson.
