BUCHANAN, N.Y. - Howard Goldbach, of Buchanan, died Jan. 31. He was 88.
He was born April 4, 1923 in New York City to Jacob Augustus and Annie Goldbach. In 1933, he and his family moved to Buchanan and Goldbach later graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School in 1941. That same year, he married his high school sweetheart, the late Betty C. Everett, at Trinity Methodist Church in Buchanan.
He is survived by his son Howard J. (Lorraine) Goldbach, his daughter Jean Goldbach, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Betty in 2010 and his brother Robert Goldbach in 1983.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home in Montrose. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
