CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. Hudson Valley Hospital Center will host the 11th annual Womens Symposium on the balance of work in a womans life on October 29, in Cold Spring. The symposium will include a number of notable Westchester women.
"Women have come away from Hudson Valley Hospital Center's Women Symposium feeling enlightened and energized, and I expect that this year will be no different,'' said Joanne Campbell, director of HVHC's Wellness Club and an organizer of the event. "It is a day to meet other women and work on our selves as human beings, improving our health and our spirituality.''
For me its one of the most important days of the year," said Kacey Morabito Grean, mistress of ceremonies and WHUD radio personality. "I never want to miss it, its completely rejuvenating and its a day to share with other women. I always learn something new. And its what we all owe ourselves and our families, to be our best. Grean is a Hendrick Hudson High School graduate.
The symposium will take place at Chalet on the Hudson in Cold Spring, and include breakfast and lunch and various lectures.
Keynote speakers include Darlene Rodriguez, co-anchor of WNBCs Today in New York, and Elizabeth Ailes, publisher of the Putnam County News and Recorder, and the Putnam County Courier. Ailes is married to Roger Ailes, CEO of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.
Both women have had extensive, award-winning careers in news. Rodriguez has covered numerous breaking news stories, including the shooting of Amadou Diallo, coverage of Flight 587 en route to the Dominican Republic, and the Popes meeting with U.S. Cardinals regarding the Catholic Churchs sex abuse scandal. Rodriquez has also received the Latina Excellence Award from Hispanic magazine, and the Silurian Award for Best Spot News Coverage for her report on a Queens Subway Crash
Ailes is owner of the Hudson Valley Freedom Press, which publishes the two aforementioned Putnam County newspapers. Initially, she started her career in journalism at NBC News Radio, later moving on to become part of a three person team which launched CNBC news network in April 1989. Ailes later became director of business programming at CNBC, before becoming vice president of programming at Americas Talking, the predecessor to MSNBC.
