Hospital Auxiliary Club Raises $1,000 at Bake Sale

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – The totals are in, and the Hudson Valley Hospital Center Auxiliary raised more than $1,000 at its bake sale on October 7.

The annual event raises money to support the hospital and to provide scholarships to deserving college bound high school students each year.

“When we first started we were raising about $500 each year, and for the past 2 years we’ve made over a $1,000,” said bake sale co-chair, Joy Chiulli. She added that the auxiliary intends to make a “large donation” to the hospital’s new cancer center this year, but couldn’t release the dollar figure yet.

Each year the auxiliary also gives out four scholarships to seniors at northern Westchester high schools.

Auxiliary sources say this year’s sale was such a success that all the goodies were gone by 3 p.m. The early bird catches the worm, or in this case, the sour cream coffee cake.
