Croton Teen Theatre To Hold Auditions

Croton Teen Theatre will hold auditions for their summer play line up on Tuesday, May 31, and Wednesday, June 1 for all roles in “My Fair Lady,” and a dramatic play to be announced at the Holy Name of Mary Church on Grand Street in Croton-on-Hudson.

The Croton Teen Theatre is part of the Croton Council on the Arts, and is headed up by Sue Ryan, president of the Board on the Croton Teen Theatre. “We provide an educational program that really centers on building self-esteem,” said Ryan, whose daughter joined the Croton Teen Theatre at nine years old in a production of “Oliver.”

“I’ve seen shy kids change in one season, the support can be strong… they form relationships that last a lifetime,” she said.

Teens that are 13 and older are welcome to audition for both plays, and could be cast in both plays. Participants should bring two minutes of dramatic monologue, for the unannounced dramatic play, or 16 bars of music from a classic musical, and wear shoes and clothes that are comfortable to move in.

The tuition for the Croton Teen Theatre summer session is $450, regardless of whether a given performer is cast in one play or both. The performances will be held on July 28 through 30 at Sleepy Hollow High School. The creative team includes director Tom Berger, choreographer Anne-Marie Galler, and musical director John Bronston.
