Croton Rummage Sale to End During Summerfest

As Summerfest quickly approaches, the annual rummage sale at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Croton comes to a close. The rummage sale, which lasts approximately 10 days, will end its clothing sale tomorrow, and begin its indoor rummage sale.

The clothes sale will end tomorrow, in a “fill a bag” for $5 free for all, which includes clothes, shoes and stuffed animals. The end of the clothes sale marks the beginning of the indoor rummage sale, which will also have a “fill a bag” sale on Sunday. All left over clothing will be donated to Goodwill.

The first day of the indoor rummage sale was today, Friday, tomorrow the indoor rummage sale will open at 10 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. Sunday the indoor sale will open at 1 p.m. and close at 5 p.m.

Many of the volunteers, including Regina Hertl, who manages the outdoor clothes sale, and Mark Mitchell, who manages the indoor sales, have been with the rummage sale for over 12 years. This year’s newest addition to the rummage sale is a Girl Scouts Gold Award project by Regina Hertl’s daughter, Margaret Livingston, which brings the Spanish speaking community into the rummage sale fold.
