CORTLANDT, N.Y. – Here is a look at events in Cortlandt this weekend:

Friday, March 9

High School Comedy Sketch – The Croton Academy of Comedic Arts will perform at their new location in the heart of Croton, 8-B Old Post Road South, Croton-on-Hudson. The performance is free and begins at 7 p.m.

Family Fun Night at Furnace Woods Gym – The Furnace Woods PTA will hold a Family Fun Night in the Furnace Woods Elementary School Gymnasium. Admission is $5 per person and children must be supervised. This event begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 10

Birding Walk in Brinton Brook Sanctuary – The Sawmill River Audubon’s monthly walks continue at Brinton Brook Sanctuary throughout the coming months. Come walk with a friendly group of people who enjoy the outdoors together. The terrain should be easy with stops along the way to enjoy birds, trees or other sights of interest. Meet at the main sanctuary entrance. No reservation is needed, this event begins at 9 a.m. Brinton Brook is located off of Route 9A, see the Sawmill River Audubon’s website for more information. 

Jack Tuesday: Fairy Tale Investigator – The Croton Free Library presents an original puppet show about a mystery surround several favorite story time characters. The performance begins at 11 a.m., and is suitable for ages 4 to 11. The Croton Free Library is located at 171 Cleveland Drive, Croton-on-Hudson. Call 914-271-6612 for more information.

Live From Hen Hud… It’s Still Saturday Night – This evening hosted by the six Hendrick Hudson School District PTAs will feature Sgt. Mike Guida of the Buchanan Police Department in a comedy show. Admission is $70, proceeds support the PTAs of Hen Hud. There will be an open bar, dinner and dessert. Sunday, March 11

Homegrown String Band – This live musical performance at the Hendrick Hudson Free Library features folk music and will be performer in the Constance Dyckman Community Room. The performance begins at 3 p.m. in the Hendrick Hudson Free Library, located at 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose. Call 914-739-5654 for more information.

Cello Sonatas – Frank Murphy and Michael Golubov offer an afternoon of sonatas for cello and piano, featuring works by Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy and Prokofiev. Both members of the duo received degrees from the Juilliard School. Local resident Frank Murphy has performed extensively in New York and throughout North America, including solo performances at Alice Tully and Carnegie Halls. This performance begins at 2 p.m. at the Croton Free Library’s Ottinger Room.
