“Mrs. Lindsey was a very important part of our community, especially when we were moving into our Town Hall in 1992 and starting our plans at Steamboat Dock in the hamlet of Verplanck along the shores of the Hudson River," said Town Supervisor Linda Puglisi. "Helen’s expertise in plantings including trees, shrubs, flowers were critical in shaping our lovely grounds at Town Hall and at our parks. She helped to beautify our community which is symbolic of her grace and spirit that she spread wherever she planted a garden and planted a tree. We all miss Mrs. Lindsey and this special memorial garden will live on in her memory.”

“Helen was a very active member of the Peekskill Garden Club, the State Garden Club and National Garden Club," said Daniel Meyer of the Peekskill Garden Club. "She is survived be her son, Larry, and three lovely grandchildren. Helen made great contributions to the flower shows and to several gardens throughout the town of Cortlandt. She will be dearly missed by her friends, family and the members of the Peekskill Garden Club.”
