Croton Point Nature Center Schedules Activities

CROTON, N.Y.-- Croton Point Nature Center has released a schedule of upcoming activities for the weekend of Sept. 20 through 22.

The schedule of events includes:

FRIDAY

  • River Lovers Autumn Pot Luck Supper, 6:30 p.m. at the Croton Point Nature Center.

SATURDAY

  • Hawk Watch , 10 a.m., at the Lenoir Preserve on Dudley Street, Yonkers. Participants can scan the skies for migrating birds of prey along the Hudson River flyway with members of the Hudson River Audubon. 
  • Nature Games for Kids, 10 a.m. at the Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Kids can learn about and experience nature through games.
  • Quarry Makers, 1 p.m., at the Cranberry Lake Preserve, Old Orchard Street, North White Plains. Participants will go on a hike to re-visualize the landscape before it underwent transformations to serve New York City.
  • Fall Foliage Find, 2 p.m., at the Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1 (Boston Post Road), Rye. Hikers will view the changing colors of the fall landscape.

SUNDAY

  • Fall Shelter Building, 2 p.m., at the Marshlands Conservancy. Participants will learn how to construct a life-size shelter using only materials found in nature.
