The screenings begin at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. as part of National Memory Screening Day, according to a press release. Qualified health-care professionals will administer the memory screenings and provide educational materials about "memory concerns, brain health and caregiving," according to the release.

"If you think you may have either hereditary memory loss issues or other questions about yourself that can be evaluated by professionals in the field, or even just to get a baseline, The Seabury at Fieldhome is offering this wonderful opportunity in my district to get a free, confidential screening," said Assemblywoman Sandy Galef (D-Ossining) in the release. "I encourage anyone 65 and above to consider taking advantage of this proactive program because some memory loss problems can now be treated or delayed.”

The screenings consist of a series of questions and tasks, and take five to 10 minutes to administer, according to the release.

The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America suggests memory screenings for "anyone concerned about memory loss or experiencing warning signs of dementia; whose family and friends have noticed changes in them; who believe they are at risk due to a family history of dementia; or who want to see how their memory is now and for future comparisons," according to the release.

To schedule a memory screening or for more information, residents are asked to contact Patti Lavan Horvath, director of Corporate Compliance and Community Outreach at Fieldhome at 914-739-2244, ext. 5501.
