Man Crushed, Killed In Freak Accident At Business In Region A 61-year-old man was killed in a freak accident when he was struck by a Freightliner cab that was attempting to hook up to an empty trailer at a Hudson Valley business. The incident occurred in Orange County around 9:15 a.m., Thursday, May 9, at YRC Freight, 1000 Homestead Ave., in Maybrook. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation found that Stanley Weglarz, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, was assisting in the yard directing trucks to trailers when he was struck by a 2014 Freightliner cab that was attempting to hook up to an empty trailer.&nb…

Construction Worker Seriously Injured After 20-Foot Fall In Region A construction worker was seriously injured after falling from a second-floor roof to the first floor.  The incident took place in Orange County around 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 25 in the town of Highland Falls on Owens Farm Road. According to the Highland Falls Police Chief Frank Basile, a construction worker was working on a second-floor roof when he fell 20 to 30 feet to the first-floor roof area. Employee Trapped Under Forklift Seriously Injured At Home Depot In Region A Hudson Valley Home Depot employee was seriously injured after being trapped under a forklift. The incident took place in Orange County around 1 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Monroe. According to Monroe Fire District Chief Rich Lenahan, the fire department responded to the store at 254 Larkin Drive for a call regarding a worker trapped. When firefighters and EMS arrived on the scene they found an employee trapped under the rear of a forklift, Lenahan said.
