1 Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash In Region One person was hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. It happened just after 4 p.m. Friday, May 3 in Mahopac. All five people involved were able to self-extricate from their vehicles, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Several other agencies provided assistance, including Carmel VAC, Mahopac EMS, CPD, Putnam County Medics, and the Mahopac Falls Fire Police. 1 Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash In Region One person was killed and another was seriously injured during a single-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. The collision occurred around 10:50 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 20 in Orange County near exit 39 on the eastbound side of I-84 in the town of Newburgh. Fatal Crash In Region: 32-Year-Old Man ID'd As Victim A 32-year-old Hudson Valley man was killed during a crash with another vehicle on Route 299. The incident took place in Ulster County around 7:15. p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19 in the town of Gardiner. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, Dutchess County resident Daniel Curtin, of Wappingers Falls, was driving a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle when he was struck by a 2012 Subaru that crossed over the double-yellow line. Nevel said Curtin was gravely injured and died from his injuries despite the efforts of the troopers and EMS on the scene. This investigation is ongoing.

Man Killed After Car Hits Rock Wall In Region, Police Say A man is dead after losing control of his vehicle and hitting a rock wall in the Hudson Valley, police said.  The accident happened in Putnam County on Friday, Dec. 30 around 3 p.m. when the car traveling east on Route 301 in Putnam Valley about a mile west of the Taconic State Parkway suddenly lost control, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.  The vehicle then traveled up the end of a guard rail before slamming into a rock embankment.  The driver, Northern Westchester resident James Cottrell, age 65, of Cortlandt Manor, was pronounced dead at the scene.&nb…
