Fatal Crash In Region Under Investigation For Failure To Yield, Police Say Police in are investigating a two-car fatal crash that killed a local man in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14 on Route 22 in the village of Pawling. According to Capt. John Watterson, of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, a preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2020 GMC Terrain operated by Robert Tompkins of Dover Plains was traveling northbound on Route 22 when it struck a 2010 Jeep Cherokee making a left turn from Reservoir Road onto Route 22. Woman From Region Killed In Wrong-Way Driver Crash Identified A Hudson Valley woman killed when an SUV crossed the roadway into oncoming traffic has been identified by police. Dutchess County resident Li Hongling, age 50, of Poughkeepsie, was killed Sunday, Aug. 6, on Route 9W in Ulster County in the town of Highland. Man Killed In Head-On Crash In Region A man from the region was killed during a two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Ulster County in the town of Lloyd on Tuesday, May 17. Alfredo Gomes, age 59, of Lloyd, was killed while driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla, westbound on Route 299 when he crossed the double yellow line and ran head-on into a 2021 Volvo driven by Ashley Guerrero, age 35, of the city of Poughkeepsie, said Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police.
