Head-On Crash Involving School Bus In Region Injures 1 One person was injured when a car allegedly swerved into the path of a school bus in the region, hitting it head-on. The crash occurred in Sullivan County around 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5 in the town of Thompson in the vicinity of 907 Old Liberty Road. 2 Men From Region Nabbed Cutting Copper Pipes Off Heating Unit, Police Say Two men from the region were charged with felony burglary after allegedly being caught inside a home cutting copper pipes off of a heating system. The incident occurred in Sullivan County around 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 1 in the town of Thompson at 409 Rock Hill Drive. Home Explosion: 3 Seriously Injured As Police Probe Cause Of Incident In Region Three people were seriously injured after a home explosion in the region. It happened early Saturday afternoon, Sept. 30 in Sullivan County on James Place in the town of Thompson. A preliminary investigation reveals that the explosion may have been caused by a propane leak,and the cause "does not appear to be criminal." according to New York State Police. Man From Region Nabbed For 3 Commercial Burglaries, Arrested For Shoplifting, Police Say A man from the region who had been nabbed for three alleged commercial burglaries was arrested again for shoplifting at a Walmart store. Sullivan County resident Justus McMoore, age 37, of Monticello, was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 22 in the town of Thompson after a brief foot chase. Crash Destroys FedEx Tractor-Trailer On Busy Roadway In Region A driver managed to escape severe injuries during a crash of a FedEx tractor-trailer. The crash took place in Sullivan County in the town of Thompson on Route 17 around 7 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 30. According to the Rock Hill Fire Department, the driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own and was immediately transported to the hospital by Mobile medic EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. The department was assisted by: New York State Police,  State Department of Transportation,  Mobile medic EMS,  Rock Hill EMS Prestige Towing.
