Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Car Near Capital Region College A man is fighting for his life after being struck by a car near a college campus in the region. The incident happened at around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 in Schenectady near Union College. Schenectady Police said the victim was struck as he walked along Van Vranken Avenue near Kenwood Street. When officers arrived, he was unconscious and in critical condition, police said. He was taken to Albany Medical Center where his condition has not been made public. Man Found Shot On Street In Area, Police Say Police in the Hudson Valley are investigating after a man was found shot in the torso. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:45 p.m., Monday, Nov. 21 on Mansion Street in the city of Poughkeepsie. Police responded to the area of 364 Mansion St., after receiving a 911 call reporting a person shot, said Det. Sgt. George Camacho. Responding officers located a 40-year-old city of Poughkeepsie resident with a single gunshot wound to his torso, Camacho said.
