Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Roadway In Region Smoke was seen on a busy main route in Northern Westchester when a vehicle went up in flames.  The incident happened on Saturday, May 11 around 1:40 p.m., when a car caught on fire on Route 9 southbound in Croton-on-Hudson just south of the pedestrian bridge.  According to the village's fire department, the blaze began in the vehicle's engine compartment and was quickly put out. The car was removed from the road after around an hour. No injuries were reported.

SUV Crashes Into Auto Parts Store In Area A driver had to be rescued after an SUV crashed into an auto parts store in the region. Fire officials in Dutchess County said crews were called to the Dover Plains store in Dover Village Plaza Tuesday, April 19, with reports of a car into a building. Arriving crews found the SUV with its rear end protruding from an exterior wall and the driver still stuck inside, fire officials said. They had to cut away part of the building in order to free the trapped occupant. Fire officials said medics evaluated the patient at the scene and found no injuries. It's unclear what led up to the crash.
