App Leads To Teen Car Thief, 'Violent Struggle' With Cops In Hudson, Police Say
They say there’s an app for everything, and that includes catching car thieves.
Police in Columbia County were called at around 3:45 p.m. Thursday, May 4, with reports that a woman’s SUV had been stolen in Hudson, near Warren and 5th streets, according to Hudson Police.
Fortunately for the victim, she has an app on her phone that allowed investigators to track the vehicle right to the suspect’s doorstep.
Using the app, officers found the vehicle approximately four blocks away, near Columbia and 1st streets, where they identified the suspect as Darrick Sanchez, age 18, of Hudson. …

A Northern Westchester woman has been arrested for allegedly losing control of a stolen car and careening onto an Upper Manhattan sidewalk, striking six people, including two 3-year-olds.
Northern Westchester resident Sharon Godwin, age 32, of Peekskill, was arrested on Wednesday, March 15, after New York City Police responded to a 911 call of pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle at West 190th Street and Broadway, said the NYPD.

Duo Charged With Stealing Car, Credit Cards In Region: Police
Two people, one a minor, have been charged with stealing a car and other items in Northern Westchester, police say.
On Monday, Nov. 7, police responded to a report that two suspects were trespassing on private property and attempting to break into locked vehicles in Croton-on-Hudson, according to Croton-on-Hudson Police.
Police soon located the two suspects and found them to be in possession of stolen property, including two credit cards, police said.
