Man From Region Charged With Robbery Of Gas Station A 38-year-old man from the region was charged with the alleged robbery of a gas station and attempted robbery of a dollar store.  Sullivan County resident Ollen Eck III, of Livingston Manor, was charged on Tuesday, April 9, for the Saturday, March 16 robbery of the Sunoco gas station, and the attempted robbery of the Dollar General, both in Livingston Manor on Monday, March 18, according to the New York State Police.  Following his arrest, Eck was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail. Scott Vanbergen, of Saratoga County, was arrested Friday, Nov. 17, in connection with an attempted robbery at a Stewart’s Shops in Schenectady, located on McClellan Street. Officers were called after an employee pushed a panic alarm, according to Schenectady Police. The worker told officers that a man had attempted to steal the cash register but was unsuccessful. The Rensselaer County incident happened just before midnight Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Troy’s Lansingburgh neighborhood, according to Troy Police. Failed Bank Robber Nabbed At Home In Region, Police Say A Hudson Valley 26-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery in an unsuccessful attempt to hold up a Chase Bank. Dutchess County resident Daimion Lowe, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested on Saturday, June 17 at his home, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to the Chase Bank on Main Street in Pleasant Valley for a robbery. Authorities in Sullivan County were called just before 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, with reports of an assault and attempted robbery at a home in Bethel, located on Mohawk Trail.
