Man, 71, Killed In Mountain Bike Accident At State Park In Region A 71-year-old man was killed in a mountain bike accident at a state park in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, at Tallman Mountain State Park in Orangetown. According to Trooper Steven Nevel with the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that Alido M. Woman Dies After 70-Foot Fall In Region A 39-year-old woman visiting the area died after falling 70 feet off a cliff at a state park in the region. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22, at Minnewaska State Park in the town of Rochester. New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said Nur Aisyah Binte MD Akbar, age 39, and her husband Abdul Rauf Bin Mohd Said, age 41, both of Singapore, were hiking on Beacon Hill Trail when they stopped to take photos at the edge of the cliff.  Nevel said Binte MD Akbar lost her footing and fell off the cliff, approximately 70 feet. ID Released For Fisherman Who Drowned In Capital Region Pond Authorities are investigating after a fisherman was found dead in a pond in the region. Emergency crews in Washington County were called at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, about a man who had failed to return home from a fishing trip. Following a search, crews located the man’s body in Clarks Pond in the town of Jackson. On Monday, Nov. 6, New York State Police identified him as 61-year-old Marc Luther, of Wilton in Saratoga County. An investigation determined that Luther entered Clarks Pond in a kayak to go fishing. Police Investigating Drowning Deaths Of Man, Woman In Their 20s From Capital District Authorities are investigating the drowning deaths of a young man and woman from the Capital District who were found in the southern Adirondacks. The bodies of 24-year-old Kaydee Lyons, of Albany, and 28-year-old Matthew Banks, of Scotia, were found Friday, Aug. 19, in Tenant Creek in the Hamilton County town of Hope, State police said. The deaths are still under investigation, but the drownings appear to be accidental, police said. Lyons’ mother, Jennifer, confirmed her daughter’s death in a post on Facebook. Missing 6-Year-Old NY Boy Found Dead In Pond A 6-year-old boy who was reported missing was found dead in a pond near his home in New York.  Onnex Thompson-Hall's body was found by New York State DEC Forest Rangers in the Washington County town of Easton at about 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, according to New York State Police. Authorities said the apparent drowning is believed to be accidental.
