A crash on a stretch of I-87 that initially blocked the left lane caused heavy delays in Rockland early Thursday evening.

The crash, reported at 6:30 p.m. on the northbound side,  resulted in stop-and-go traffic at Exit 12 (Route 303) with traffic backed up to the Tappan Zee Bridge span.
