Indictments Announced In Area Attempted Murder Case A Hudson Valley man who has been on the run in connection with a shooting earlier this year has been captured and charged with attempted murder. Orange County resident Lavelle Stackhouse, age 24, of Newburgh, was arraigned on Tuesday, Dec. 7, and charged with attempted murder in the second degree. According to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler, the indictment was in connection with a shooting of a man in the middle of the day on Williams Street, in the City of Newburgh, on Wed. The first report of a shooting took place around 12:15 a.m., Thursday, April on Williams Street in the City of Newburgh, said Det. Lt. Joseph Burns. 'Soda Pop' Admits To Attempted Murder In Area Shooting A 23-year-old man has pleaded guilty in connection with the attempted murder in the area. Ryan Discua, aka “Soda Pop,” of New Windsor, pleaded guilty Monday, Dec. 16, also pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office. During the hearing in Orange County Court, Discua admitted to illegally possessing a loaded 9mm pistol and shooting the other man on Oct. 9, on Williams Street, seriously injuring the victim, the DA's Office said.
