NY DEC Issues Warning After Westchester Coyote Attacks A week after a rabid coyote terrorized southern Westchester County, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued the agency’s annual guidance on preventing conflicts between people and animals as spring approaches. Beginning on March 1, there were several reports of coyotes attacking local residents, including the death of a small dog that was victimized by the animal.
