'A Very Difficult Day': Westchester Officer Helps Unconscious Boy During Funeral Procession A police officer in Westchester is being recognized for assisting an unconscious three-year-old boy during his family member's funeral procession.  The officer was recognized in a letter of appreciation sent to Yonkers Police by the son of a former Westchester County Department of Corrections officer, whose funeral procession was accompanied by officers from the department.  On Thursday, Oct. 27, during the funeral procession, the man's nephew became unconscious, according to the letter that Yonkers Police shared in a post.  According to the letter, Sgt. Longtime Hudson Valley Business Owner Dies At Age 64 A former corrections officer and business owner from the Hudson Valley died on Monday, Oct. 24.  Westchester County native Steven E. Woman Accused Of Murdering Son Apprehended In Area, Police Say A woman who was wanted in the murder of her 2-year-old son was apprehended in Westchester County following a traffic stop, police said.  Natalia Suero, age 29, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, by Irvington Police, according to the Village of Irvington Police Department.  Police said Suero pulled over for a red light traffic violation and was subsequently arrested on an active warrant for first-degree murder. At about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to the area of Lawrence Street on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim inside the lobby of 19 Lawrence St. with a gunshot wound to his torso, Yonkers Police said. Justin Martinez, 31, of Middletown, was arrested by Yorktown Police on Monday at the Orange County Jail on charges that he violated an order of protection on August 12 in Yorktown, police said.
