Missing Hudson Valley Man Dies After Being Caught In Current Of Brook In Vermont, Police Say A missing Hudson Valley man hiking the Appalachian Trail died after being caught in the current of a brook in Vermont, according to authorities. Dutchess County resident Robert Kerker, age 67, of Rhinebeck, who had been missing since Sunday, July 9, was located about 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 28, by search crews along the Stony Brook in Stockbridge, Vermont, about 1.5 miles downstream from where the trail crossed the brook. Police Bust 55 New Jersey Teens Partying At Vermont Vacation Home Vermont State Police busted 55 New Jersey high school seniors drinking at a house rented by parents early Sunday morning, authorities said. The teenagers had "a vast quantity of alcohol and a civil amount of marijuana" when troopers arrived at the West Hill Road home at 12:35 a.m., in Jamaica, V.T., Sgt. Ryan Wood said. Police did not disclose where in New Jersey the students were from.
