Hudson Valley Man Charged With Making Terroristic Threat
A Hudson Valley man has been charged with making a terroristic threat after allegedly threatening to blow up a building. Ulster County resident Marc Whittaker, age 47, of Kingston, was charged on Monday, March 11. According to Sgt. Collin Reynolds of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, officials notified deputies assigned to the Ulster County Department of Social Services that Whittaker had threatened to blow up the building during a telephone call. Five From Area Charged With Welfare Fraud
A total of five area residents have been arrested and charged in connection with welfare fraud. The arrests stem from an investigation by the Ulster County Department of Social Services Special Investigation Unit, along with the Ulster County District Attorney's Office. Those arrested were: Imani Heyward, 30 of Ellenville, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and charged with the felonies of welfare fraud, grand larceny and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing. An investigation into alleged welfare fraud in the area led to the arrest of three people. The three women were arrested following the investigation conducted by the Ulster County Department of Social Services Special Investigation Unit along with the Ulster County District Attorney's Office.
