Man Dies After Single-Vehicle Crash On Hudson Valley Roadway A 51-year-old man died after losing control of his motorcycle on a Hudson Valley roadway. The crash took place in Dutchess County around noon on Saturday, Aug. 13 in Stormville at the intersection of Route 216 and Phillips Road. According to the East Fishkill Police, when officers arrived on the crash scene they found a man nearby unresponsive.  The man, a native of Michigan, was the sole occupant involved in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.  A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was traveling northbound on Route 216 and lost control of th…

In federal court, Dutchess County resident Aaron Finn, age 35, of Hyde Park was charged with using excessive force that amounted to “cruel and unusual punishment” against a restrained inmate in March last year. NY State Announces Completion Of I-84 Paving Project A multi-million dollar resurfacing project along one of the Hudson Valley’s busiest stretches of I-84 has been completed. The New York State Department of Transportation announced on Tuesday, Dec. 8 that an $11 million project to resurface a 7.7-mile stretch of the interstate between Dutchess and Putnam counties has been completed. Construction crews began the I-84 project in the spring and it was expedited during the COVID-19 pandemic and finished ahead of schedule. But this weekend, we have received word of a bear who's a real night owl - so to speak. A family in Dutchess County tells us the bear has made back-to-back evening visits the last two days.
