Man Breaks Into Hudson Valley Home, Assaults Person, Police Say
A man was arrested for allegedly breaking into an occupied home and assaulting a member of the household in Westchester County. The incident took place around 2 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17 in the city of Rye on Stuyvesant Avenue. Rye officers responded to a report of three men entering a city home that was occupied at the time by family members and guests, said Lt. Michael Anfuso, of the Rye Police. Police Warn Of Car Thefts, Break-Ins In Region
Police are warning car owners after numerous vehicles were stolen or broken into in the region. In Westchester County, 11 vehicles have been stolen in Rye since March 2022, Rye Police said in a statement Tuesday, Aug. 2. A wanted man from Westchester County is behind bars after leading officers on a foot chase that included a detour through a stranger’s home, according to police. Marquise Roberson, age 33, of Peekskill, was arrested Sunday, May 15, after his wife’s grandmother called police in Rye and said he was banging on her front door, authorities said. Hudson Valley Resident Charged With Felony DWI After Crash Splits Pole
A Westchester resident was arrested for DWI following a single-vehicle crash in which a telephone pole was split in half. The crash took place in Southern Westchester late Friday, May 6 in the city of Rye. Rye Police responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident occurring on the Boston Post Road in the area of Cedar Street. The accident split a telephone pole in half and was eventually replaced by Con Edison, said the Rye Police. Hudson Valley Man Found Guilty Of Engaging In Sex Acts With Child
A 43-year-old White Plains man was arrested by Rye police and convicted on Friday, March 16 of engaging in sex with a child under the age of 13, according to Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. Jard Hobbs was found guilty on three counts. Judge Susan Cacace presided over Hobbs' jury trial in Westchester County Court.
